Orphaned in the Second Great War, Yamamoto Kyo was adopted by the Knight of the Moon. Shortly after his adoption he became the Knight of the Moon's apprentice, and was expertly trained in the teachings of the School of the Moon. When he was only 11 years old, he earned perfect marks on all of his combat examiniations, garnering him the rank of a "Zero Class" seeker. After a series of missions he is given a special assignment to travel alongside a young seeker named Koukweem. It was this mission that brought him to the Lower World.
